If you want to die get involved in using this sort of ****.

Presenting at the 2024 United European Gastroenterology (UEG) Week, a team of researchers revealed a novel approach to tackle obesity by targeting fat absorption in the small intestine. The breakthrough nanoparticle system, engineered to deliver therapeutic molecules directly to the digestive tract, demonstrated significant potential to prevent diet-induced obesity when tested in mice.

Fat does not induce obesity.

Over-consumption of energy is, at the core, what causes obesity.  That's just math and no amount of arm-waving can change it.

Poor glycemic control, that is, insulin resistance, is what leads to over-consumption of energy.

Inhibiting the absorption of energy in fats means the energy balance shifts to carbohydrates which by definition further degrades insulin response by spiking insulin levels and thus building tolerance to high insulin the blood, which in turn means you will eat more.

That is directly obesogenic because your body doesn't get fat by eating fats, it gets fat because it converts energy sources you consume into fats and stores them as fat.

This is the exact buffering mechanism that makes it possible for you to go more than about a day without food and not die; your body can exchange energy sources for fats in both directions within your body; were this not to be the case you'd die if you couldn't eat within roughly every 24 hours.  Further, your body will always preferentially use carbohydrates as it is metabolically "easier" and the laws of thermodynamics are not suggestions; this too is an essential element of why you can go without food for more than day and not die and it is not unique to humans: All animals honor this mechanism because thermodynamics is not a set of suggestions and animal metabolism is roughly the same in regards to ATP production and use for cellular energy.

While this "innovation" may appear to be "good" in some regard it is not because insulin resistance is, over time, deadly.  Insulin is directly inflammatory; it is a necessary evil, in short, to be able to signal the body's metabolic processes to shift between glucose and lipid metabolic processes.  Increasing the portion of the load taken by carbohydrates in an environment where "fast" (highly-glycemic) ones are available will make the problem worse among those who are already insulin-resistant and thus will advance their diabetic condition, whether currently fulminant or not.

In other words it will cause to become more-ill even if you lose weight and this, in turn, will make the pharmaceutical and medical industry more money while at the same time destroying your health.

This is evident to anyone who has put in any amount of study on the matter because no matter what you do you can't cheat thermodynamics.

This "research", if it continues, is simply aimed at robbing you while destroying your health.
